Private Parties
Background music is not what we do
Don't believe us...

- We had a blast! Your band got rave revues.
- Private party, Burlington, Ont., Aug. 2006
When you are hosting a party or event, you have two options in live music: a band that plays background music, or a band that involves the audience in the show. Through many of years slugging it out in the clubs in and around the GTA, the members of the Kitchen know what people respond to, and how to motivate a crowd to become involved participants in the event.
The result is always a positive one. As a matter of fact, the only complaint we have heard from recent parties that we have played at was that we may have done structural damage to a floor because there were too many people dancing at once. You have been warned.
We play what we like, and it shows
People are always telling us that "You look like we're having a great time". Wanna know a secret, we are, and the excitement is infectious. We could easily load our set up with songs that are common in the cover band circuit, but our litmus test of a number that merits play is whether we would be excited to hear a band play it ourselves. We are willing to play special requests, and have a number of standards that we can pull out of our back pockets should the need arise, but we prefer to stick with what moves us, and the performance is much more powerful because of that.
Songs people forgot they loved
Acting as our own focus group in determining what we play, we have come up with a unique assortment of music. Check out our set list and you will see what we mean. Have you ever heard Love Cats played live by a band other than the Cure, or a group that segues from a Temptations number into a Killers song? Neither had we. The repertoire continually surprises and excites.
